Learn About Last Shadow
We take pride in the excellent relationships we have forged with all the farmers, ranchers and landowners who work and own the land where we hunt. We’ve been developing these partnerships for the past five years to provide an incredible experience for our clients and a useful service for the landowners.
Because of these successful partnerships, we have the best land for hunting—large open tracts of sparsely-wooded land. This allow us to fly close to the ground, giving you the best chance of taking out as many hogs as possible.
We follow standards set by the United States Department of the Interior for the Aerial Capture, Eradication and Tagging of Animals.
To the best of our ability, we aim to reduce suffering by making sure that every pig shot is dead and not just wounded. And by using helicopters to hunt, we have less impact on the land and property.
Absolutely. Guns and ammo are included with all our adventure experiences, from heli hog shooting to our Texas Safari. We’ll set you up with a fully-outfitted, semi-automatic AR-15 and unlimited ammo. We’ll keep you fully loaded so all you need to do is aim and shoot.
Experienced shooters may bring their own weapons on a case-by-case basis and with advanced notice to our booking agent. .308/7.62 is the largest caliber allowed and the firearm must be suppressed.
During your hunt, we will cover all kinds of terrain, giving you many opportunities to test your shooting skills. You’ll see everything from wide-open pastures to dense brush, lakes and rivers.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department permits the hunting of feral hogs year-round, so Last Shadow provides hunts 12 months a year. We schedule hunts on a first-come, first-served basis, though we will make every effort to get you the dates you want.
Everyone who flies or shoots with us must undergo a safety briefing before your Last Shadow experience. This is when we’ll sign release forms, verify hunting licenses, and take you through firearms and safety procedures. The safety briefing gives you a chance to meet the team, get familiar with the equipment and learn what will happen during your experience. This is mandatory for all participants.
We fly the turbine-powered MD600N, capable of speeds up to 175 mph.
Four people can fly and shoot at a time.

We recommend that you wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Aside from that, what you wear will really depend on the weather. Remember that Texas can get very hot in the summer. Sunglasses, jackets and shooting gloves are a good idea, depending on the season.
Shooters must be at least 18 years old on the day of their hunt.
There is no limit to the number of hogs you can kill. It all depends on your shooting skill and the number of hogs we encounter on any given hunt. We can usually give you additional flight time if you’re interested in extending your hunt.
We are a fully-insured and licensed hunting and commercial operation.
We’ll keep an eye on weather conditions as your event date approaches. Your safety is our number one concern, so we don’t fly if the weather isn’t right. If we do have to cancel your hunt, we’ll make every effort to reschedule it as close to the original date as is convenient for all parties. We don’t control the weather (yet!), so we can’t offer refunds, but we will fit you into our schedule as soon as possible.
Because of the remote areas and rugged terrain where we hunt, we can’t collect the animals where they have been shot. But don’t worry—the native animal population is glad to have the meal. Any animals left afield are typically eaten within a few days of being shot.
Our whole team—pilots, ground crew, hunting guides—works hard to make sure you have the experience of a lifetime. Therefore, we do appreciate your tips. It’s customary to tip 10% of the total hunt price, and we will share that gratuity equally among all our crew. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
